What is the ODP?

The USRowing Youth Olympic Development Program is just that… a program that develops our talented young athletes properly.  We formed our ODP because we saw a need to identify and invest in our sport’s top young athletes and support our future National Team members.

We provide opportunities for skill acquisition and enhance the age-appropriate development of rowers and coxswains at all levels And we will help them become the best athletes they can be in the safest way possible—we want your child rowing now and in the futuresafely We take our responsibility of ‘growing talent’ seriously.

USRowing  has a multi-phased approach, to identify talented, age-based athletes with the potential to grow within the system We provide them with challenging, developmentally-appropriate opportunities.   Our program involves 3 weeks of training, with significant focus paid to long term athlete development and instilling the skills necessary for future success in the U19 system.  The final week is the Olympic Development Program Summer Cup – a series of racing and competitive opportunities to showcase athlete progress held at Nathan Benderson Park

Safety & Safesport

As the national governing body for rowing, we take our safety protocols very seriously—from SafeSport to Covid and beyond.

Fun 'n Sun!

Our athletes work very hard  (no one ever claimed rowing was easy!), but they also make friends, and have a blast.
